OUR STORY
The company was founded in 1971 by Lyle Dudgeon, with his brother, Brent, joining in 1975. What started as a one-man, one-truck operation based out of Newark, Ohio has now grown to eight locations across three states. In 1981 Brent moved company headquarters to Bellville, Ohio, where it is still located today. in 1997, NCI added their Fireplace Division, expanding to offer more than just insulation.
In 1998, the business began to expand, adding a location in Wooster, followed by a new building with a fireplace showroom in Newark in 2001, and another showroom location in Lewis Center in 2004.
Recently, they have expanded beyond Ohio, adding Latrobe, Pennsylvania in 2017 and Eminence, Kentucky in 2018. In 2019, the company branch moved from Eminence to Shelbyville. In 2024, they added a location in Washington Courthouse, Ohio and in 2025 they acquired Kousma Insulation, located in Willard, Ohio.
